Reading plans give you a structured schedule for working through scripture. You can create your own plan, import an existing schedule, generate one with AI, or follow plans shared by other users.

Create a reading plan

1

Open Reading Plans

From the Studies tab, tap Reading Plans (calendar icon).
2

Tap + New Plan

Choose Create manually to build a plan yourself, Generate with AI to have the app create one for you, or import a spreadsheet template.
3

Set the plan details

Enter a title, optional description, and the number of days. For AI generation, also describe the topic or theme (e.g., “30 days through the Psalms” or “Study on forgiveness”).
4

Add readings (manual)

For each day, add one or more Bible passages. Use the passage picker to select a book, chapter, and optional verse range, or use Add passage range for one continuous same-book range.
5

Save and start

Tap Save. Your plan appears in the Reading Plans list. Tap Start to begin Day 1.

Every plan needs at least one day

A reading plan cannot be saved with no days, whether it is private or public. Saving an empty plan is blocked with a message asking you to add a day first.
There is no empty draft state. To start a plan and finish it later, add a single day with any passage — you can edit it freely afterwards. To get rid of a plan, delete it rather than emptying it.

Use a passage range

Use Add passage range when one reading day should cover a continuous span, such as Genesis 1:1–3:7.
1

Choose Add passage range

In the day editor, go to Passages and tap Add passage range.
2

Set the start

Choose the book, start chapter, and start verse.
3

Set the end

Choose the end chapter and end verse, then tap Add range to day.
Seed Scroll expands the range into per-chapter readings. For Genesis 1:1–3:7, the day includes Genesis 1:1 through the end of chapter 1, all of Genesis 2, and Genesis 3:1–7.
You can mix individual passages and passage ranges on the same day.
Passage ranges are currently same-book only. The ending verse must come after the starting verse.

Import a reading plan

Seed Scroll can turn structured reading schedules into editable plans. Use this when you already have a church schedule, ministry PDF, spreadsheet, devotional calendar, or personal plan. Supported import paths include:

Import with the CSV template

Use the CSV template when you want the most predictable result.
1

Download the template

In the reading plan generator, choose the spreadsheet/template option and download reading-plan-template.csv.
2

Fill in plan details

Add a plan title, optional description, and one row per passage.
3

Use Bible book numbers

The template includes common book-number examples, such as Genesis 1, Psalms 19, John 43, Romans 45, and Revelation 66.
4

Repeat days for multiple passages

Use the same day_number on multiple rows when a day includes more than one passage.
5

Import and review

Upload the completed CSV. Seed Scroll opens the plan editor so you can review every day before saving.

Import from PDF or document

For PDFs and documents, Seed Scroll extracts the reading schedule and converts it into days. Good source files usually have:
  • one reading day per row or paragraph
  • visible day numbers or dates
  • clear Bible references
  • minimal decorative layout
  • readable text instead of scanned images
For complex PDFs, export or copy the table to CSV, text, or markdown first when possible. Table-based text is easier to parse than raw PDF layout.
Always review imported plans before saving or publishing. PDF layouts, scanned documents, and unusual abbreviations can cause missed or incorrect references.
After import, Seed Scroll opens the plan editor so you can correct titles, passages, verse ranges, and notes before starting the plan.

AI-generated plans

AI reading plan generation is a premium feature. Upgrade to premium to use it.
Describe any topic and the AI builds a multi-day plan with curated passages and a brief note for each day. You can edit the generated plan before saving it. You can also provide source material such as sermon notes, devotional outlines, or a structured reading schedule. The app will try to extract Bible references and build day-by-day entries. Longer plans take a while to build, and generation runs on Seed Scroll’s servers rather than your phone. You can leave the app while it works — a notification tells you when your plan is ready, or if it could not be finished. If you are still in the app, your phone gives a short buzz instead. See Notifications.

Follow a plan

Work through your reading plan day by day:
  • Open the plan and tap the current day
  • The Bible reader opens directly to the assigned passage
  • Complete the whole day or mark individual chapters complete
  • Play a day or full plan with the audio player when audio is available
  • Add reflections for a reading day
  • Your progress is saved so you can pick up where you left off

Share a plan

There are two ways to get a reading plan to someone else, and they do different things.

Publish it

Making a plan public puts it on your profile and in the feed of people who follow you, where anyone can find and enroll in it. A plan must contain at least one day before it can be made public, so only plans people can actually read reach the public directory. See Every plan needs at least one day. Open the plan and tap the share action. On iOS and Android this opens your device share sheet; on web the link is copied to your clipboard. A private plan can be shared this way as well. That creates a link which works for whoever you send it to, without making the plan public or putting it in anyone’s feed — useful for a plan written for one group rather than for everyone. Sharing a private plan requires an account. Opening a shared link on a phone with Seed Scroll installed takes you straight to the plan.
